Easy-Mix ā the right mixing and dosing system
With the help of the modern mixing and dosing system WEICON Easy-Mix, different 2C adhesive types can be automatically dosed, mixed and applied cleanly and accurately in just one step. This ensures consistent quality and process safety within batch production.
The Easy-Mix system contains resin and hardener in two separate chambers within the double cartridge. The 2C adhesive is only mixed by using the dosing system. The dosing system offers the huge advantage that it ensures achieving the right mixing ratio. That is important for the 2C adhesive to develop its full adhesive strength and to completely cure.
- The adhesive is ready to use.
- Dosing, mixing and application of the 2C adhesive are done in just one step.
- Mixing by hand is not necessary. That way, mixing and dosing errors are prevented and high process safety is achieved.
- Thanks to the fast material application, faster cycle times in series production are possible.
- Due to minimum material loss, the mixing system enables an economical use of the adhesive.
The Easy-Mix dosing system includes the Dispenser D50 including the plunger. The dispensing gun is a true all-round product., which can be used in many different ways. Its well-thought-out ergonomic design allows effortless and fatigue-free working.
For processing Easy-Mix PE-PP 45 with a mixing ratio of 10:1, the special Dispenser PE-PP 45 is additionally available. The dispensing gun can be equipped with the Quadro Mixing Nozzle or the Helix Mixing Nozzle as well as a dosing tip for particularly delicate applications.
For which adhesive types is the Easy-Mix mixing and dosing system suitable?
Epoxy adhesives
WEICON Epoxy Adhesives are cold-curing, solvent-free two-component systems with extremely high adhesive strength. They allow material bonds with tensile and impact strength and are therefore perfect for assembly, repair and production.
Epoxy adhesives are used especially for innovative constructions and connections of different materials and for particular requirements (such as creating visually appealing joints combined with high strength). For these types of application, WEICON Epoxy Adhesives offer many advantages:
- When using WEICON Epoxy Adhesives, material surfaces are not altered, in contrast to welding or soldering, for example.
- Material tension does not occur and additional fixing devices are not required.
- Due to the use of thinner and lighter materials, simpler and more cost-efficient constructions are often possible. This can result in significant weight and cost reductions.
Epoxy adhesives are suitable for metal, rigid plastic, fibre composites (FRP, CFRP etc.), ceramic, glass, stone, wood, and many more. These materials are also often combined, which leads to additional requirements.

Structural acrylic adhesives
Structural acrylic adhesives are based on MMA (methyl methacrylate) and show high adhesive strength on fibre composites, many plastics, metals, and many other materials. Thanks to their high viscosity, these adhesives can also be applied on vertical surfaces.
Structural acrylic adhesives are characterised by the following qualities:
- high tensile, shear and impact strength
- fast strength build-up
- suitable for indoor and outdoor use
- resistant to weathering and chemicals
- sandable and paintable
- temperature-resistant from -55Ā°C to +125Ā°C (-67Ā°F to +257Ā°F)
The following materials can be bonded with high tensile, shear and peel strength: Plastic (e.g. PVC, ABS, PMMA, fibre glass, phenol), polyurethane, epoxies, steel, aluminium, stainless steel, wood, ceramic, and many more.

Polyurethane systems
Polyurethane systems are high-strength, fast-curing 2-component structural adhesives based on polyurethane with excellent adhesion to a wide range of materials. The high-viscosity texture allows for application even on vertical surfaces. The 2-component system also provides for fast and controlled curing. That makes the bonding process almost independent of layer thickness, humidity and ambient temperature.
Polyurethane systems are characterised by the following qualities:
- fast strength build-up
- high initial strength even on vertical surfaces, non-drip, mouldable
- high tensile, shear and impact strengths
- permanently elastic, impact-resistant, low shrinkage
- suitable for indoor and outdoor use
- resistant to weathering and chemicals
- can be sanded and painted after approx. 30 minutes
- neutral to materials
- temperature-resistant from -55Ā°C to +125Ā°C (-67 to +257Ā°F)
The following materials can be bonded with high tensile, shear and peel strength: fibre composite materials (e.g. EP-GRP, UP-GRP, CFC, SMC and fibreglass), plastics (e.g. PVC, ABS, PMMA, PC, phenol), polyurethane, epoxies, polyester, aluminium, stainless steel, wood, ceramics and many others.

The Minute Adhesive (double syringe) as an alternative to the Easy-Mix system
Several WEICON 2C adhesives can also be used without a dispensing gun: the epoxy adhesives Epoxy Minute Adhesive, Fast-Metal Minute Adhesive, and Aluminium Minute Adhesive as well as the structural acrylic adhesive Plastic-Bond. These 2C adhesives come in a double syringe. The plunger is integrated in the cartridge. A mixing nozzle can also be attached to this dosing system.
Application without a mixing nozzle is possible, too, for example, when the nozzle had to be disposed after the first use of the adhesive. In this case, simply squeeze the adhesive onto a piece of cardboard, mix it thoroughly with a spatula until it has a uniform colour, then apply it by using the spatula.
